Mary Hughes is an abstract painter whose work has evolved out of the tradition of landscape painting. Long influenced by the natural world, her current work recalls geological and topographical imagery while engaging with formal design issues of color, depth and line. She has been the recipient of many award and grants, including a Fulbright Scholarship. Her work is in both public and private collections and she is represented by the Copley Society of Art.
